About the Golf Course

Green Mountain National offers a quiet, scenic round with the feel of a private-club setting while remaining open to public play. The course blends natural beauty with thoughtful design, using gently sloping fairways, generous landing areas, strong green complexes, and distinct elevation shifts to create a layout that is both playable and rewarding. It is the kind of course that welcomes a wide range of golfers, yet continues to challenge players who value smart positioning, club selection, and strong approach play.

Set on a rugged mountain property near the Killington ski area, the course stretches through woodland terrain with memorable vistas, including the panoramic view from the 16th tee that stands out as one of the signature visual moments on the property.

Style of Play

Green Mountain National is best enjoyed as a strategic mountain course, not simply a grip-it-and-rip-it layout. Accuracy and positioning matter. Many holes reward a tee shot placed to the correct side of the fairway, while elevation changes and wind exposure make club selection a major part of scoring well.

Players will find a mix of reachable par 5s, downhill par 3s that play shorter than their yardage, and strong par 4s. Several holes call for restraint and precision, especially where ravines, water, bunkers, and multi-tiered greens come into play. The course offers enough room off the tee to stay playable for everyday golfers, but the undulating greens and thoughtfully placed hazards keep the round interesting from start to finish.
